These terms govern your use of Linuen, an online service that uses artificial intelligence to help assess digital solutions. Linuen is published and operated by Linuen inc., headquartered in Granby, Quebec. The company's details appear at the top of this page.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Definitions

  • Linuen, we, us: Linuen inc.
  • You, the client: the person who holds an account and the workspace attached to it.
  • Workspace: the private environment in which you create and keep your files.
  • File: everything you prepare for a project — the description of your needs, your questionnaire answers, imported documents, the proposed architecture, the budget estimate, the timeline, saved versions and deliverables.
  • Operation: a piece of work entrusted to the AI (for example a first assessment, a targeted refinement, a new approach, interface mock-ups or a standalone file package), paid for in credits.
  • Credits: the unit used to pay for operations.

2. What the service is — and what it is not

Linuen helps you describe a digital project and, when you ask, produces a proposed architecture, an estimate of effort and cost, a timeline and a structured file. The AI proposes and organizes; the figures (hours, amounts, totals, timelines) are computed deterministically by the software from that proposal and from the published reference rates; and a second AI model critically reviews the proposal before it is delivered.

Every file Linuen produces states what it is: either "AI-assisted" or, when produced without a real AI provider, a "demonstration", together with its limits and caveats. A file is not:

  • a professional sign-off — no engineer, architect, accountant or other professional has reviewed or approved it;
  • a guaranteed estimate — hours, amounts and timelines are estimates based on assumptions, which the file names;
  • a quote, a bid or a commitment to carry out the project, by Linuen or anyone else;
  • legal, tax or compliance advice — laws named in a file are laws to consider, never a statement of compliance.

Two analyses of the same file may produce different results, because AI is not deterministic. In our own testing, the estimated effort for the same file has varied by 3% to 72% from one analysis to the next, about 14% on average. That is why a file shows ranges, a contingency for uncertainty, and the questions that remain open.

Decisions are yours. You alone are responsible for how you use a file — choosing a solution, committing a budget, signing with a supplier, launching a project. Have qualified professionals validate whatever requires it.

3. Your account and workspace

One person, one workspace. Each account belongs to a single person, who holds the workspace. Accounts may not be shared. Access is by invitation, or by sign-up when sign-up is open.

Accurate information. You provide a correct name and email address and keep them up to date.

Keeping access secure. Signing in requires a second factor (an authenticator app, or a backup code); you may ask for a device to be remembered for thirty days, and forget it at any time. Keep your password, second factor and backup codes confidential, and tell us promptly if you think they have been compromised. You are responsible for what is done through your account, unless the access results from our fault. From the Security page of your account, you can close your other open sessions and forget a remembered device.

When Linuen opens your workspace. The owner of the Linuen platform can open your workspace to work in it — to check or correct a file, or to help you, particularly when you have written to us. Every opening and closing is recorded in the platform log; a banner shows it for the whole time, and access expires on its own after eight hours. Corrections made this way are signed "Correction by Linuen". Linuen never spends your credits and never accepts a quote on your behalf.

4. Your data

You may put in a file whatever your project needs, including personal information or confidential data. Linuen places no restriction on it, but warns you of what this implies, below and on the Data processing page. We recommend that you send only what your project requires.

When you launch an operation, the text you write and the documents you import are sent to an AI provider based in the United States (see the privacy policy). This is a disclosure outside Quebec and Canada, subject to the provider's terms. If your file contains trade secrets, documents covered by a non-disclosure agreement, data belonging to your own clients, or personal information about other people, it is up to you to make sure that the law and your commitments allow you to disclose it in this way.

Masking is a safeguard, not a guarantee. Before anything is sent, the software scans your file locally, without AI, for the most common kinds of personal information (email addresses, phone numbers, social insurance numbers, card numbers, dates of birth and postal codes in context, and people's names) and shows them to you. You decide whether to mask each one — the default — or let it through; no operation is sent while a decision is pending. The scan does not catch everything, and it cannot recognize information that is confidential without being personal. You remain responsible for what you submit, and for having the right to submit it.

5. Credits, quotes and payment

A quote before every operation. Each operation shows its price in credits before you launch it, according to the current price grid published on our Pricing page. Nothing is charged until you accept. A quote is valid for a limited time stated in the grid; after that, a new quote is issued. The size of an operation depends on the analysis requested — never on the estimated budget of your project.

Hold, charge, release. Credits for an operation are held when it starts and charged once, on delivery. If an operation fails without producing a result, the held credits are released — immediately when the failure is final, after a reconciliation period otherwise. A technical retry costs nothing extra. A delivered analysis is still payable even if you do not keep its suggestions. Everything that does not involve AI — creating a file, editing by hand, viewing, comparing, downloading a package you already bought — is free.

Where credits come from. You can buy credits once, receive them through a monthly subscription, or be given them by Linuen.

  • Credits bought once do not expire.
  • Subscription credits are granted each period once payment is confirmed; an unused allocation can carry over to one following period, after which it expires.
  • Credits given to you expire on the date announced when they are given, if any.
  • Credits that expire soonest are used first. Credits held by work in progress remain usable for that work even if they reach their expiry date in the meantime.

Credits represent product operations. They are not money or a convertible balance; they cannot be transferred to another workspace or exchanged for cash, except as described under refunds.

Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars, before taxes. Applicable sales taxes are calculated at checkout based on your billing address and added to the price. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; Linuen never receives or stores your card number. Credits are granted when the provider confirms the payment, not merely when you return to the site.

Subscriptions. A subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your workspace; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current, already-paid period and stops renewal. A change of plan takes effect at the next renewal. There is no automatic top-up.

Refunds. When a purchase is refunded, in whole or in part, the credits from that purchase that are still available are removed in proportion to the amount refunded. Credits already used for delivered work stay used; credits still held by work in progress are removed as soon as they are released. A refund never deletes a file, a version or a deliverable. To request a refund, contact us through the Contact page. These rules do not limit the rights the law gives you, including under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act where it applies to you.

Chargebacks. If you dispute a payment with your financial institution, the credits from that purchase are removed as for a refund when the dispute is opened, and returned to you if it is resolved in your favour.

Price changes. Linuen may change its price grid. A new grid only applies to quotes issued after it takes effect: an operation you have already accepted keeps the price of its quote. Any increase in a subscription price is announced before the renewal it applies to, and you may cancel beforehand.

6. Ownership

Your files belong to you. The content you provide and the files produced for you — text, architecture, estimates, saved versions, deliverables — are yours. You may keep, download, share and use them as you wish, during and after your use of the service. You allow Linuen to host and process them, and to pass them to the subcontractors named in the privacy policy, only as needed to provide the service to you. Linuen does not use your files to build its published references, to showcase the service, or to train any model.

The platform belongs to Linuen. The software, its code, templates and calculation methods, its published references (rates, catalogue, estimating policy, architecture knowledge base), the Linuen name and its logos belong to Linuen inc. or its licensors. These terms transfer none of those rights to you; you receive only a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service while your account is active.

Feedback. If you share an idea or suggestion about the service, we may use it to improve the service without any obligation to you.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit content you have no right to use or to disclose as described in section 4;
  • try to access another workspace or an account that is not yours, or get around a security measure, a usage limit or billing;
  • disrupt the service, probe it with large volumes of automated requests, systematically extract its content, or copy it;
  • use the service for anything illegal, deceptive or harmful, or to produce a document presented as professionally approved;
  • insert instructions in a file meant to divert the AI from its task.

Linuen may suspend an account that breaks these rules, after notifying you and explaining why, except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise.

8. Availability and changes to the service

Linuen makes reasonable efforts to keep the service available and your data backed up, but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or incidents. During a pilot phase, defects are possible and features may change.

The service evolves: we may add, change or remove features. A saved version of a file does not change once saved. If we remove a feature you are paying for, we will tell you in advance.

9. Liability

The service and its files are decision-support tools, provided as described in section 2. To the extent permitted by law:

  • Linuen is not responsible for decisions you make based on a file, or for differences between an estimate and the actual cost or duration of a project;
  • Linuen is not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost business opportunities, or data you did not keep;
  • Linuen's total liability to you, for all causes combined, is limited to the amounts you paid Linuen in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it.

What these limits do not exclude. They do not apply to harm caused by Linuen's intentional or gross fault, or to bodily or moral injury, for which the Civil Code of Québec does not allow liability to be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer within the meaning of the Consumer Protection Act, nothing in these terms deprives you of the rights and remedies that Act gives you, and any clause it prohibits cannot be enforced against you.

To the extent the law allows, you agree to compensate Linuen for any harm it suffers because you submitted content in breach of section 4 or of a third party's rights.

10. Ending your use and deletion

By you. You may stop using the service at any time. Cancelling a subscription stops renewal at the end of the paid period; you keep access to your files, saved versions and packages you already bought. You can also ask us to delete your account and workspace by writing to us through the Contact page; the privacy policy explains what is deleted, what the law requires us to keep, and how long it takes. Before asking for deletion, download anything you want to keep: once deleted, your files cannot be restored for you.

By Linuen. Linuen may end your access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if it stops offering the service. Except in the case of a serious breach, it gives you at least thirty days' notice, lets you download your files, and refunds the unused portion of any subscription paid in advance.

11. Changes to these terms

Linuen may change these terms. The current version is published on this page with its date. We will announce any significant change at least thirty days before it takes effect, by email or in your workspace, and describe what is changing. If you do not accept it, you may cancel at no cost before it takes effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept it. A change never applies to an operation you have already accepted.

12. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Quebec have jurisdiction, subject to the rules that allow a consumer to bring a claim in the courts of their place of residence.

These terms are available in French and in English. Both versions have the same effect.

13. Contact us

For any question about these terms, write to us through the Contact page; your request is recorded and handled by a person. For questions about your personal information, see the privacy policy.
